Access Control is one of the most important features of your security system. Dictating who can enter your home/facility/business, and when. There are many options for access control systems with many different features. Here at FST, we have worked with several different brands, depending on the job and the industry that needs service.

Who should access your company’s data? How do you make sure those who attempt access have actually been granted that access? Under which circumstances do you deny access to a user with access privileges? It consists of two main components: authentication and authorization

The Three Types of Access Control Systems:

  • Discretionary Access Control —do the people in charge agree to let you in.

  • Mandatory Access Control— everyone who enters is required to use to be let in.

  • Finally, Role Based Access Control— your level of position allows you access to certain things.

There are also different devices used for Access Control;

- Push button Codes
- Card Swipe
- Key Fobs
- Phone Tags
- Biometric Fingerprint

Depending on your business, home or facilities needs, there are many varied companies and types of access control. Some of the brands we are familiar with are;

Hirsch ScramblePad Reader and the Hirsch Verification Station…

The ScramblePad design is ideal for the world’s most secure locations. At FST in our portfoloio of work, we have utilized Hirsch/Identiv systems at TF Green airport.

The Scramblepad’s high-security scramble feature randomly orders digits each time the “START” button is pressed. The random scrambling prevents stealing a user code via pattern recognition, and also prevents keypad wear that leaves a tell-tale impression of the numbers used in a valid PIN. Plus, viewing restrictors narrow the field of vision and only the person directly facing the ScramblePad can see the order of digits.

The Verification station, pictured above, is a combination of four types of security. One of which is the scramblepad. This is the market's only high-security, multipurpose biometric edge reader.  The Verification Station delivers extraordinary versatility.

UNIVIEW HEAT-TRACKER Series

The main two factions of this series are access control terminals, both contactless. One, is a terminal using facial recognition and temperature measurement, the second is a security gate with temperature measurement.

Both are for use in public areas, such as places of business, schools, and public transit services.

The Temperature Measurement terminal (pictured left) supports non-contact detection of wrist temperature, warning of people with an abnormal body temperature and combined with facial recognition, can pinpoint who it is that has this high temperature, attaching it to their footprint.

The security gate, functions as a typical metal detection access control security gate. It is multi-functional, and supports temperature measurement. It can be rapidly deployed and is easy to use. And is a completely non-contact detection to avoid cross infection. An alarm will trigger when the detected temperature over the set value.
